I really enjoyed the Art Museum and shopping experience. I also had a couple of fabulous meals and enjoyed a relaxing time in the piazza with fresh squeezed orange juice. It is a wonderful historic city. Although it is perched on high ground it is very accessible through public escalators in various parts of the city and with a minimetro from the Perugia station right up to the top at a very small price. Very convenient.

Perugia is not only a great city in itself but also a great base to explore the wonders of Umbria and even Tuscany. We had a week there and spent three days in the city itself sight seeing and shopping - highlights included the amazing new gallery, practically empty, the amazing Nobile Collegio del Cambio frescoed by Perugino, the medieval aquaduct that you can walk along and of course the Perugina chocolate factory (reached by Bus A from the Bus or train station if you don't have a car.) We also went on day trips to Gubbio, Lake Trasimeno and Spoleto by bus or train. I will be back as there were many other places that I would like to visit and Perugia makes a convenient hub. We also always found welcoming restaurants to eat in the evening and even got quite a few new clothes.JuliaUnited Kingdom

With temperatures above 30 degrees Celsius, it was nice the room had an air conditioner. In a wider part of the space between the rooms a few tables and chairs, with a nice view over part of the city. Note: the two long stairs can be a tough climb for some.

In the immediate vicinity there is a stop of the Mini Metro, with which you can easily go for a walk in the old town and the center. Hotel "Astor" is convenient for travelers because the train station is at an arm's length. This does not mean that the hotel area is noisy, on the contrary. Quiet and peaceful place.

It is far better than any hotel and the coffee shop is on the doorstep for breakfast! There is also a little supermarket too. It was the perfect place to stay to see Perugia and I cannot recommend it enough!!! FANTASTICO!!
